Good Morning: Last Week in Review: 11/13-11/18
Hello friends! I know it's been a while since I've posted, but last week was quite the crazy week! The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) was in town and I was attending once again. Every year this convention comes to town, bringing in theme park and industry leaders from all over the world to see and showcase the newest amusement park technology. Anything and everything that goes into a theme park, from the food to the plumbing, is showcased at this convention and it's my favorite way, as an amusement park enthusiast, to see what's coming soon.
This event is also an amazing way to network. I was able to meet the communications director of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Pete Owens. He was such a nice guy and gave me some good advice as I continue to grow as a public relations professional in the hospitality field.
Here are just a few of the pictures from the convention.
Following the fun, but long, week at IAAPA, our coaster club, the American Coaster Enthusiasts (AC), hosted an event at Fun Spot America in Kissimmee. We were able to ride Mine Blower an hour before the park opened, had lunch with guest speakers from the park and as a special surprise, got to walk up the lift hill of Mine Blower.
